Work Table in Roundhouse (HTT)

Work Table in Roundhouse (HTT)
We could view the work areas in the roundhouse at Steamtown, Scranton, Pennsylvania, but mostly from above on a catwalk.

Below, there were areas of active restoration for historic locomotives and rolling stock. This work table stuck out, since it was crowded with tools, especially BIG ones for working on these large locomotives.

Image processed with GIMP.

Interesting shot but too tidy and clean to be a steam loco workshop.

belated HTT -
That's a very clean workshop - and big locos need big tools, and that includes a decent pair of "stilsons" ...

Having said that one job I've been doing recently needed something to operate a nut that was 3" across the flats [ had a coarse thread so wasn't too much problem when we found a big enough spanner ...]

At DownsSteam the 2 locos have nuts 4" across on the air reservoir for the brakes supply. We have a ginormous shifter and an in-house made spanner for them.
