'My' path to the pub again. Every time I pass here, it presents a different face. But Spring is at its peak now, so it's to be expected. Bluebells smothering the old retaining granite wall. A definite candidate for 'plants versus structures'?! And a composition I'm particularly pleased with.

From my (by now well-trod) path to the pub. No horses this time but there we are. On the blackthorn / hawthorn doubt, I do know from personal experience of many years of collecting sloes that hawthorn and blackthorn very rarely, if ever, grow in close proximity to each other and I wonder why. On my usual path to the pub. Somewhat later in the day as my Dad's back in hospital (doing OK in the circumstances) and my timetable alters somewhat! The tree branch silhouettes appealed. This is pretty much as I saw it. I did a little editing simply to remove some of the excessive glare, but other than a little cropping, nothing really! In other words my occasional walk to the pub for my swift half and then a quick return to cook supper!

It's good that I can now walk this path in daylight after a few months of dark and dismal light for any shot! Better perhaps on large and then on large again, to follow the path into the light at the end of the tunnel!!

The former Wheal Pink copper mine was located exactly here. No one would believe it today unless they knew! St Day, Cornwall. Marginally better on large.

Leading off from Pink Moors. I went along the path for a few 100 yards but it became so waterlogged that I gave up and will wait for dryer conditions!

A walk along Pink Moors as the last light fades away. (Even spookier on large).

I just thought this tree and the camellia and especially the cheerful gate showed up well on a gloomy day! The Wheal Pink copper mine was over the road to the left and was one of the largest mining concerns in St Day. Today? Gentle pasture fields!

I walked this path once about 25 years ago and not since and confess to remembering nothing at all about it. But I've recently read some interesting facts about the antiquity of this path and the one-time mining community of Treskerby, complete with old pub. I'll do a bit of research and see what happened to it. LATER INFO: Yes, an old mining community with pub, The Pick and Gad, which was turned into 2 houses in the late 19th century. in Pink Moors, Vogue, St Day. No longer a creamery but they still milk their cows here. The market for Cornish clotted cream is dominated by Rodda's, just up the road in Scorrier. I don't know but this farm's milk possibly goes there for processing. I like their yellow door!
