Another stile on 'my' path to the pub!

Possibly I posted this a while back but this is a different angle and weather. Note how these stones are a mismatch of styles, Modern-ish at the top and industial tin and copper mining era (with the notches) below and the rest probably placed there long before. There are records of this path in the 13th century but it's likely to be far older than that. The stiles collapse from time to time (perhaps once every 300 years!) and you see local repairs making good as required!

Leading off from Pink Moors. I went along the path for a few 100 yards but it became so waterlogged that I gave up and will wait for dryer conditions!

I tried this path to Treskerby today but it's definitely a welly walk. Will have to look for my old wellies! They're here somewhere!

I walked this path once about 25 years ago and not since and confess to remembering nothing at all about it. But I've recently read some interesting facts about the antiquity of this path and the one-time mining community of Treskerby, complete with old pub. I'll do a bit of research and see what happened to it. LATER INFO: Yes, an old mining community with pub, The Pick and Gad, which was turned into 2 houses in the late 19th century. I'll walk this path again with renewed interest as the evenings get longer..

HFF everyone!

A granite stile and a wooden gate providing contrast. On my daily early evening walk.
