On the left, possibly a menhir (standing stone) once, and certainly used as a gatepost more recently.

On the far side of this 1.7m high standing stone (and too faint to be photographed) is an inscription dated to the 6th to 8th centuries commemorating 'Rialobranus son of Cunovalus'. The stone is thought to be a prehistoric menhir.
