Rhyolite, Nevada, is a ghost town on the California and Nevada border. It flourished during a gold rush in the late 1800's but declined and became a ghost town in the 1920's. The town is visited now not only for its ruins but for its strange sculptures, some of which are shown in the insets here and in the previous photo. This is the train station, one of the best-preserved buildings in Rhyolite.
