When we hiked with family members recently, we hiked along the west side of Hog Lake (the east side is private property) and hiked from the north end of the lake to the south. This is the south end of the lake where there is a boat launch and small dam. From this end of the lake we headed back across the prairie.

We live in a very dry area but the spring and summer this year were drier than usual, thus the scum and weed at the south end of Hog Lake and as I posted earlier, the lack of water in the falls at the north end of the lake.
