These are a few more photos from our Burro Mesa hike, this from the trail, an dry wash, which we followed to the Burro Mesa pour-off, a water-worn channel down the side of the mesa.

This is the top of the Burro Mesa pour-off, a water-worn channel down the side of the mesa. It was possible to hike to the top of the mesa but required a rather long drive around and another hike which we did not do.

This the bottom of the Burro Mesa pour-off, the channel down which water runs from the top of the mesa when it rains. Burro Mesa is on the west side of Big Bend National Park.

This was part of Burro Mesa as we hiked a dry wash to the base of the pour-off which drains the mesa.

This was taken on our second hike of the second full day of our stay in Big Bend National Park. We traveled down the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive on the west side of the park, stopping at various places along the way and hiking at some of them. This hike took us along a dry wash to the Burro Mesa pour-off, a water-worn channel in the rock from the top of Burro Mesa, shown in the first inset. Here was the wash which was also our trail.

This was our destination when hiking to the Burro Mesa Pour-off in Big Bend National Park, the channel down which water pours from the top of Burro Mesa when there is rain.

Hiking back from the Burro Mesa Pouroff in Big Bend National Park, this was the scenery. We were hiking a dry wash to the place where water poured from the top of Burro Mesa.
