This Lady's Slipper is a natural hybrid of the Mountain Lady's Slipper (white pouch) and the Northern Yellow Lady's Slipper (yellow pouch). It grows in a mixed population that includes flowers that resemble each parent as well as these flowers with a pale yellow pouch which clearly are intermediate between the two.

Growing with plants that resemble both parents, these Lady's Slippers are a natural hybrid of the Mountain Lady's Slipper and the Northern Yellow Lady's Slipper, the former with a while pouch and the latter with a bright yellow pouch, all three growing together in a remote location.
