These three photos are all of the Kootenay River which we followed most of the way through the National Park in 2014. The park is far less busy than Banff and Jasper and is equally beautiful.

This is the Kootenay River in the National Park of that name in British Columbia. The road through the park follows the river for most of the way.

When traveling through Kootenay National Park in British Columbia one follows the Kootenay River for much of the way. We made numerous stops along the river both by way of hunting orchids and also enjoying the scenery. The day we traveled through the park we had clear skies and sunshine in the morning changing to more threatening weather and rain late afternoon. This photo shows the thunderheads building to the north, though we did not get rain until much later. Note: I tried replacing this photo with an edited version and am not getting a good result.
