Standing up to five feet tall, this impressive wildflower certainly deserves the name "great." Its botanical name is Stachys chamisonis var. cooleyae. This was growing along the Hurricane Ridge Road in Olympic National Park.

Another of our native wildflowers, the Great Hedge Nettle stands up to five feet tall and is found on the wetter west side of the mountain ranges in Washington and Oregon.
