RHH's photos with the keyword: tahquamenon

On our recent trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, after leaving Mackinac Bridge, we went first to Tahquamenon Falls State Park and walked the trails near the Upper Falls which allow one to see the falls from different perspectives. These are some of the photos we took there, two of the insets showing the Tahquamenon River above and below the falls and one of the insets focusing on the color of the falls, the result of tannins in the water from the surrounding hardwood forests.

I am interrupting my series of Yellowstone photos to post this photo, taken by my wife, of Upper Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She is away at the moment and all I had was this low-quality photo which I hope to replace with something better later today. We were in the Upper Peninsula the last few days with our son and daughter-in-law and spent quite a bit of time at Tahquamenon State Park. The falls there are colored by tannins from the surrounding forests and are stunning both in color and in their volume.
