These photos are all of animals we've seen coming into Yellowstone National Park from the east over Cody and through Sylvan Pass. Some of the photos were taken just outside the park, as was this, but all the animals can also be seen within the park boundaries and many of them wander freely in and out of the park, sometimes bringing about confrontations with those who live near the park. This wolf is the only one I've ever had opportunity to photograph though many of the other animals are seen near the roads and in the public areas of the park.

This photo is from last spring when we made the same trip from Washington to Michigan that we made this past week, stopping both times in Yellowstone National Park. For the first time ever in our many visits to Yellowstone we saw a wolf up close, this just outside the east entrance to the park and quite early in the morning. We stopped along the road and he sat long enough for photos before loping away. On another note, we arrived in Michigan late Friday evening in the middle of violent thunderstorms that included hail. We will be here now for several weeks but as yet I have not had time to go though my photos. In fact, I was out last night with my youngest brother and a friend photographing the stars and the Milky Way - getting more photos instead of dealing with those I have. I appreciate your patience and visits.
