In Explore September 26, 2009, #247. This species is from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador. It generally blooms from leafless bulbs, visible in the bottom right of the picture, and is very fragrant as the name indicates.

In Explore October 2, 2009, #132. Now renamed Rhyncholaelia digbyana, this species is from Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. It has been widely used in hybridizing and has a strong citrus fragrance.

In Explore November 14, 2009, #424. This small orchid species is from Panama and Costa Rica, and was formerly classified as a Pleurothallis.

In Explore January 17, 2009, #332. A miniature orchid species from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and Brazil. The individual flowers are only approximately four millimeters in size. This was one of my first uploads on Flickr and the first picture to make Explore. At that time I had not heard of Explore and did not know much about Flickr - it was just a place to post pictures. Since then I've left Flickr and moved to Ipernity, the best move I've ever made, since the site has become nothing more than a place to dump phone pictures.

This tiny species is from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. The flowers are approximately a centimeter and the plant not much larger.

orchidsinbloom-ron.blogspot.com/2010/12/stelis-purpurasce... This orchid ranges from Mexico through Central America into South America. It is quite large and robust for a Stelis and the small size of the flowers (less than 1 cm) is made up for by the large number of flowers, up to 75 per spike.

This minuscule plant is found through much of Mexico and Central America. The plant is half an inch tall and the flowers are less than that. Seen up close, however, they are quite beautiful. This was photographed using a piece of blue velvet as a background.
