While waiting for the sunset at Big Sable Point on Lake Michigan we walked north up the beach and wandered around there looking for subjects. I was there with my youngest brother and a friend while on a recent trip to Michigan to visit family. Big Sable Point is part of Ludington State Park and has an active lighthouse, the goal of our hike.

This was the beach to the north of the lighthouse at Big Sable Point on Lake Michigan. Not long after this photo was taken a storm would form over the lake and move across the area of this photo.

These tiny pebbles were photographed on the beach at Ludington State Park near the Big Sable Lighthouse.

Here is Lake Michigan, looking west, at the end of the day as we waited for the sunset.

This was taken on the shore of Deception Pass near the Deception Pass Bridge. One can walk down to the shore below the bridge though the walk is rather steep. Deception Pass separates the north end of Whidbey Island from Fidalgo Island and is the only way Whidbey Island can be reached without a ferry. It is know for its strong currents. The pass was given its present name by George Vancouver in 1792 who gave it the name because failure to find it had lead him to believe that Whidbey Island was a peninsula. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2012/06/whidbey-isl...
