The trees in these northwest temperate rain forests grow to enormous size.

Hurricane Ridge is on the north end of the Olympic Range and the Olympic Peninsula. This photo was taken early in the morning.

We had to ford this river on foot to do our days hiking (it's swifter than it looks) and while coming back, one of the boys with whom we were hiking found a loaded Colt .45 at the bottom of the river, which we turned in at the Ranger Station.
