Pieces of blown glass back lit in the Seattle Glassblowing Studio. The colors and textures of the various pieces were spectacular and the prices far beyond my reach, but with the permission of the proprietors we spent a good deal of time there taking pictures.

It is difficult to convey the immense numbers of tulips that are planted by the bulb growers of the Skagit Valley and the surfeit of color they provide. I went to the Skagit Valley this year determined to try and convey something of what we saw, but feel that pictures like this succeed only partially.
