At this point in our backpacking excursion we had come around the east side of Kinney Lake (visible in the background) and had crossed the Robson River and its floodplain, the trail visible on the right, and were beginning the climb up up Whitehorn Hill, a grueling 3-4 km climb to the Whitehorn Basin and campground where we would spend the night. This photo was taken by my wife.

This was taken just north of Kinney Lake where the Berg Lake trail crosses the Robson River and its flood plain and ascends Whitehorn Hill. The park service has provided a bridge to cross the Robson River which would otherwise be a very dangerous crossing. The photo, taken by my wife, looks back down the trail which is just visible on the right. Another photo from last summer's hike up the Berg Lake trail, this one taken from the flood plain north of Kinney Lake and looking north. The color of the water in the river is due to glacial silt. The trail climbs Whitehorn Hill, just visible on the left and follows that hill up into Whitehorn Basin where we ended our hike.
