Big Sable Point is on the east shore of Lake Michigan in Ludington State Park. The ight is still used for navigation but the lightkeepers house is now a museum. We visited the lighthouse with family members while in Michigan for a wedding.

These are some of the dunes and beach grass at Big Sable Point on Lake Michigan.

It is no wonder that Lake Michigan and other four lakes are referred to as the Great Lakes since they are among the largest lakes in the world. The lakes are very high at present with little beach and the dunes are being washed away but this goes in cycles and will probably be different in a few years.

I was at Little Sable Point with my brother and a friend to photograph the sunset and to do some astral photography when this was taken. Little Sable Point is a state park on the east side of lake Michigan near the city of Ludington.

This was taken in Silver Lake State Park near the Little Sable Lighthouse. The park is near Ludington, Michigan, and we were there to photograph the lighthouse, the sunset and the stars.

I am not sure what shrub or tree these belong to, probably Gray Alder, but they were photographed in the dunes at Little Sable Point in Silver Lake State Park when we were there to photograph the sunset.

On April 22nd five of us drove to Big Sable Point and walked to the lighthouse there, a four mile round-trip walk. Big Sable Point is on the east side of Lake Michigan near the city of Ludington. The lighthouse there is still used for navigation. It was a beautiful day and we had a leisurely hike and afterwards went to a brewery in Ludington for a sandwich and a beer.

This is Lake Michigan from Big Sable Point near Ludington, Michigan, with a flight of Cormorants over the lake. The other side of the lake, the Illinois and Wisconsin side, is never visible. The lake is too large.

Lake Michigan is on the other side of the sand dunes in this photo. The pond has been formed behind the dunes. We hiked the Lighthouse Trail in Ludington State Park in Michigan with some other family members and saw many of the these ponds or small lakes.
