Having climbed the hill from the valley bottom we find a hilltop lake. A lot of stories as to why this is so named. It has a lot of Lilies that were not in flower on our visit and so it is often covered by leaves etc -hence the beard -maybe! See PiP for alternative view Enjoy full size.

The last day of our Welsh trip and we travel slightly south from Barmouth to Tywyn then inland about five miles to Liyn Barfog (The Bearded Lake). After parking some distance beyond the bottom farm we head uphill to the lake proper. On the way I look back west through the gates and admire the lighting on these most beautiful hills Nice full screen Enjoy the weekend. Ps –a busy week ahead and so I shall catch you all when I can –many thanks for your visits and comments in advance.

Nant Gwernol

A walk from the village of Abergynolwyn, east of the seaside town of Tywyn in Wales brings us alongside this wonderful river full of small waterfalls and rough clear waters. Our path, here on the left, is actually the one to and from the village to the terminus Talyllyn Railways narrow gauge line. The PiP shows a bigger waterfall at Dolgoch, a mile or so west of here.
