A Valldemossa town scene

A scene taken whist visiting Mallorca in 2014. The streets are still quite, but every opportunity must be taken to dry the new washing in the warm breeze. Lots of railings and fences around here, all in the name of safety.
Enjoy full size and have a great week.

Still in Valldemossa, we glimpsed this scene whilst exploring the inner village. In truth this whole setup was just by the public pathway and so not particularly private. However the professionalism evident here tells us that this is no ordinary hobby painting. Indeed we see art, collaboration and skilled preparedness in its pure form. From the beautiful ladies, dress, wonderful dogs and table setup, the whole scene took my breath away. Alas, I did not linger here.

As in many hill towns and villages, the streets invariably do a switch-back turn allowing for a house such as the one seen here to show three sides at once. The soft warm light can be seen lighting up the bright clay coloured walls here but most of the inhabitants welcome the shade no doubt. The many thick wires, normally a distraction seems to blend into this street scene too, all giving an age to this capture. All in all, a place and spot to value.

We conclude our trip on this wonderful island by travelling along the NW coast southwards and then along its SW coast to Palma where our plane back to Britain awaits later in the same day.
Our first big stop is in the small town of Valldemossa not only famous for its beautiful location and town splendour but also for its association with the composer Chopin.
We see here a view towards the triple named: Carthusian Monastery, Parish church of Sant Bartomeu and also the Chapter House. This is where Chopin and George Sand spent the winter of 1838-9. The Real Cartuja was originally a royal residence, until Carthusian monks occupied the building from 1399 until 1835.
The Pips shows us some alternative views too.
