A winters walk

Another isolation walk on our local linear railway walk, now in the Winter time. This was taken just a week or so ago now and although it has snowed quite heavy in some area’s yesterday, we have none here.
No children on this photo but as we passed here again a day or so back, there were a few braving the cold with their mums.
HFF to one and all and have a fine safe weekend.
The Beach huts of Whitby

For those of you who have watched my photos from the Panoramio days, you will know that I used to have a passion for taking photos of beach huts. Nowadays, sadly the chances do not come as often. However on this recent trip to the North Yorkshire coast I spied a few and here is a high view down to the large beach of Whitby town and its row of colourful beach huts. I must admit to enjoying the soft shades of wet sand lighting too.

A first look at Runswick Bay, another North Yorkshire coastal village. Here we are on the front with the old Lifeboat Station now housing the locally subscribed Rescue Boat. No doubt the canoes and such like are operated by and for the local community youth. I suspect now though that much of this is curtailed in our present C19 safety conditions.
"Runswick Bay Lifeboat Station was a Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat station located in Runswick Bay in North Yorkshire, England. The station was opened in 1866, with a sister station opening at Staithes nine years later. Staithes Lifeboat Station was closed in 1922, and barring another short period of operation at Staithes, Runswick Bay was a mainstay of lifeboat operations on the Yorkshire coast until 1978, when Runswick Bay was closed and Staithes was re-activated.
The local population re-started a lifeboat in Runswick Bay in the early 1980s and this now functions as the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat (RBRB), which operates in conjunction with all rescue services on the coast and is part of the HM Coastguards' emergency activation process in the area" WiKi

Taken in Sóller at a local fruit and vegetable market seller. There were in fact a few sets of hanging vegetables on this outside wall, as my PiP’s demonstrate. Chillies, peppers and garlic –all essential ingredients for Spanish cooking, no wonder the local restaurants were all full. A nice mix of colours for my camera too :)

A promenade fence

Taken a few years back now, this splendid iron fence adorns the promenade of our Yorkshire coastal town of Filey. Over the years countless layers of white paint has been added onto this, to counter the constant salt spray, but as you can see the rust still prevails giving it an attractive look too. The top rail is in fact painted a very similar but darker rich ochre colour. In the distance one can see the headland of the famous Filey Brig.
PiP shows Filey itself.
HFF, enjoy the weekend.

A late warm scene taken last year in Devon. The tree makes this for me giving us pause as ours eyes scan from side to side.

Another retro look here, in these days of very limited outings and travel that most of us here in Britain are adhering to. This time just outside the seaside-town of Filey, East Yorkshire. Just around the corner from its famous narrow peninsula into the sea named Filey Brig. Taken in April 2012
Enjoy large.

When a couple get together in a certain atmospheric situation it only takes an extra touch, like a rose, to set things afire. Enjoy this prelude to love!

Dawn at Cap Negret

As the night turns slowly to day, I take the rare chance of capturing the sun rising. Normally the fist sight of the sun is the most exciting and best thing to photograph but in this case I like this pre-sunrise better. The dark blue of the night sky turning to a blood-red just around the famous Penyal d'Ifac at Calpe is a crowning point to rest my eye on. Enlarged, one can easily make out the night fishing boats with their lights. Tech info: 34mm Nikon at F7, 1/6th sec iSO 1250, tripod mounted.
