We are in Sutherland, a historic county in the Highlands of Scotland. We have travelled some miles south of Handa Island but the scenery remains wild and wonderful. As the sun starts to drop behind the mountains, a beautiful thing starts to happen to these shifting sands -they display different colours each time you look. A place to meditate and loose one's troubles.

A splendid spot, especially when one is alone with only the sound of birds and the odd splash as a fish jumps.

Situated between Killarney and its South West coast sits this lake, which in blue skies and crisp air must be a real beauty. On this very wet September day though, a place for fishermen and mad photographers only. Moments after taking this, the heavens opened again and we could no longer see the lake at all.
