I took my granddaughter out to some where "Close" Hours drive from home to have a look at the stars. I left the Astro mount at home shooting......

While the tracker was working I took the D810 out to try with the Milky Way. The remotes are different so I could not use the camera for deep space work. This Is a double Row Bow as it was so high but it shone so brilliantly in the night sky . This was shot with the clear night filter. So far I am impressed. PIP Just past the "tree" line , no clear night filter.

A night that was a trial to see if I could use the tracker as part of my normal night photography. Full 30 seconds on the Nikon timer not 20.

The night was a total disappointment nothing worked the way it should. i saw the bow was very high but had to have a go. With the wrong tripod head I tried to make it into a normal head I would use to shoot a Milky Way Bow. This is a tracked shot @ 30 seconds where as I am shooting 20 sec - 25 sec for my normal Bows. it was cold just me stars and kangaroos. Pips are all the deep space photos from the sky this time of year.

The site right next to the main road Cars and trucks going past for the deep sky shots I use gaffer tape to cover the view finder from there lights. while I had the shot with no truck I thought why not included a little reality to the shot even our car gets a staring role.. The PIPs have been added so the view of the sky and the shot mean some thing more.

I have to admit that in my life as a photographer I tended to not get a fence in my shot ever if I could help it. this shot was taken for all the fences in the shot. I count 13 of them Enjoy the shot large. HFF

Winter gives a pond. my wife came with me while i lay on the rock to get the shots, enjoyed the cold the still and all the frogs calling...

Just another night in WA.

at the end of the jetty looks south to north. It sure was crowded but enjoyed the night. If you follow the line of the front railing you can see the burn off fire glowing in the sky. Contrast the Lay of the Emu in the milky way to the Eastern orientation in the PIP.

The clouds came in very fast we thought we where shot we both got enough of a break to get a bow.

Not some thing i would ever suggest Unless you are leaning back low down and using a super-wide lens. dont the ground look so small compared to the bow, me i am way smaller but i am just as big.

This shot was taken well before the moon came up you will note how dark the sky is compared to the others with the moon.
