Not sure if anyone is still interested, but Brett Wayn the the Flickr VP who oversaw the redesign has resigned, to be replaced by Bernardo Hernández, one of Marissr's pals from Google.

Hmm...Wonder if, despite all the happytalk and the dogged insistence that "there's no going back," the numbers after the "awesome" redesign weren't...ahem..."meeting expectations." If so, you'd figure that Marissa would scapecoat some hapless VP rather than take blame herself. (Even though she was happy to take credit for the "innovation" on the roll-out...) Certainly the Yahoos seemed remarkably clueless about how retail operations work. (You don't tell the customer they're wrong and to shut up and like it!)

Now _that_ is interesting. She was playing Good Corporate Soldier--that was her job, after all--but I wonder if it finally got to her.

I think she learned Yahoo corporate loyalty at her daddy's knee. He was Senior Vice President at Yahoo, with Flickr under his charge, 2009-2010.

Mr. Hernandez's statements do not seem promising:

particularly in the Spanish-language link. ("The opportunity at Flickr has surged rapidly in the last few weeks.."--my translation.)

Stand by for more "awesome"...
