Unwanted contact

Since Flickr changed, two of my photos are being viewed a thousand times a day according to the statistics and I am receiving email from Flickr at least 10 times a day informing me of people who want to be my contacts. Most of these people have no photographs posted to Flickr and seem to be part of the marketing to the masses strategy. Has anyone else experienced this? I have no idea why this is happening.

I made all my photos private when I left just to prevent this sort of thing.

I just cancelled my pro membership. The statistic information was driving me crazy.

I still have my F***r account, and I even still upload things there. But's it's all just for backup--everything's private, so they're not getting a _dime_ from me in ad revenues, and I get cheap storage!

About a week ago, I received an e-mail from Flickr that someone had viewed one of my images. As one does, I clicked on the name to check out who it was, to find myself in a collection of bestial imagery involving horses, dogs and women - not the sort of subject matter for even after the nine o'clock watershed! In fairness to Flickr, upon report, they had this pervert's collection closed down within 24 hours, I asked if they would ensure his details were passed on to the police, but heard no further from them, so far.
I have taken up the suggestion made above (thanks!) to make all images private on Flickr, to prevent any repetition, and it seems to be gradually churning through the 5,420 images there.

One of my photos, not even a particularly good one, all of a sudden started getting hundreds of hits, since I usually don't get more than one or two at a time on a photo, I was perplexed. After many attempts at finding the source, I finally located it on Tumbler where someone had posted it and it kept getting reposted by others. After notifying the Yahoo copyright police, it was supposedly removed from Tumbler and did not appear in my stats for several days, when it started appearing again so I finally just made it private which I will probably do with my entire stream soon.

I made my stream private when I left. I'm not putting anything new on, and will start to remove material in due course. They will get no benefit from me, including claiming me as a customer "scalp"
