William Sutherland club1. The survey is being conducted to determine the feasibility of saving and sustaining Ipernity. At this time, no requests for contributions or other funding are being made.None will be made until that issue has been addressed.
2. Once the survey is concluded, the survey results will be made available.
3. Should the survey results suggest saving and sustaining Ipernity is feasible, the Membership Association will be legally established in France as a non-profit institution. Preliminary bylaws will be drafted to facilitate that process.
4. Once the Membership Association has been formally established (proper paperwork filed in France), a mechanism for returning contributions in the event of an unsuccessful effort to assume control of Ipernity's platform is developed, and adequate financial controls are designed, a crowdfunding campaign will be launched. This campaign will seek to raise funds sufficient to sustain Ipernity through December 31, 2017.
5. During that period, structural and logistical issues for sustaining and operating the Ipernity platform will be addressed. Such issues concern policy matters relating to member privacy, a free trial period for non-members, establishment of membership dues, Administrative privileges, etc.; a governance framework; and, technical details related to running the Ipernity platform.
6. The Membership Association would assume control over the Ipernity platform in 2018. At that time (2018), all membership dues would be paid directly to the Association. This revenue stream would finance the annual costs of administering the Ipernity platform, along with other related expenses that might be incurred.
7. Survey respondents who wish to volunteer for the initiative should list the skills they would bring to the table, the responsibilities they would wish to undertake, the roles they would wish to play. All of this would be helpful should the survey demonstrate promise for saving and then sustaining Ipernity.
Finally, many of the questions and concerns being raised are helpful. This feedback, as well as suggestions discussed within the "Proposals for saving Ipernity" group since beginning of December 2016, will be leveraged should the initiative be sufficiently promising to move ahead.
