Silver plating: the art of Metal

Only a few families of silversmith in Cambodia perpetuate this tradition, which had been listed as Cambodia heritage by UNESCO in 2004. Nowadays, part of Metal Arts & Crafts activities, this intricate skill is now mastered by craftsmen for producing traditional or ritual objects, made of copper leaves, that can be found in any cambodian houses. Examples of such typical objects are phtel, a container used for offering presents to the monks, or betel boxes .
