Nov 8th is not Christmas

A number of us have Schlumbergera or Zygocactus as a house plant... and lovingly call it our "Christmas cactus"... but these plants have no understanding of our holiday seasons. Indeed, even putting a calendar with the correct dates prominently circled nearby for the plant to see will not help it... few of them have learned to read.
Instead these plants do what our ancestors did - they track the hours of light and darkness. Based on this, they set their bloom cycle accordingly.
So no - it's not Christmas on Nov 8th... don't believe the cactus...
it's just time to bloom.
