The entire flower is only 2" in diameter... practically had to put the iphone on top of him to get this close... but the sun was from the right angle (no phone shadow) and he was lazy in the warm sun and unconcerned with my near approach.

Instead of the default iphone camera app, I use "645 Pro" app for the iPhone... it interrupts the "crush this jpeg small" that the default app does, and instead lets you save as uncompressed JPEG or TIFF... well worth the 4 bucks. jag.gr/645pro
