Well seen! Nice seeing, what, 3 versions of moss/lichen? And as Keith says, the barbed wire is that extra interesing touch.

Do you ever play with processing an image after it's been taken? I wonder what this would look like with the rocks somewhat darker, with the moss etc staying bright to make the shape of the old branch/trunk stand out from the rocks.

I have quick edited this and added as PiP. Also look back at the previous photo without barbed wire and the one before that is a phone camera close of the liverwort.

Not sure if it is better in the PiP (I think you edited the one without the barbed wire). But I kind of like it being dramatic. Of course the softer original here is still very nice. I'm obviously drawn to it.
