Wildboar Clough, a film and tripod day

Wildboar Clough, a film and tripod day
Fuji Velvia 50 in the camera on the tripod.
Film with an expiry date of August 2009 so it is probably at least 13 years old.
I promise to post at least one of the shots without editing it.

I found carrying and using the tripod quite hard work let's hope it was worth it.

Results…….

A few of the photos taken on this old film and scanned are this album

Trevor King, homaris, Peter Castell, Paolo Tanino have particularly liked this photo

I treated myself some time ago to Monfroto Travel tripod (£49) In store when the legs are extended it seemed a bit flimsy, but soon as i mounted the camera it was rigid as it needs to be.
Certainly not good enough for studio work but for travel it is brilliant.

This is a Slik, very flexible but solid and heavy. I certainly wouldn’t buy it today, I would be looking for a lighter option like yours

Slowly getting back into photography mode and I have been thinking of getting my tripod out too. I always liked using a tripod as it slows the thought process down as does using film, I am also trying to switch to full manual mode which again slows me down. With auto this, auto that and mobiles the thought process seems to go out of the window.

I agree Trevor it makes me feel different. Nothing wrong with digital snaps but I do find the brain is not fully engaged with the decision making, I am inclined to either choose a fast shutter speed and click away or F8 and (at least) focus in the best place. I have one more old unused film and then the big test, do I buy more fresh film ?
