Strange. I was born in Derbyshire and my first few weeks were in Bakewell, and I re-visited many times but I've never been to Glossop! I like this shot and it makes me think I may have missed out there!

Glossop is an overgrown town and now predominantly a commuter town for Manchester
Yes it is in a good location for the Peak District and some of the town (Old Glossop) is more attractive but even there houses are being built in every corner with busy narrow access roads with no sign of any improvements to match the expansion. i suggest Bakewell is mostly unchanged over decades
