Separation Anxiety..... Where are they ?

Waiting at the school gate and very worried that it is missing out on the fun.
This doesn’t look like a Happy Dog for HFF it was howling in misery and distress as the family went out of view to collect their child from School. There would be a happy ending ... as there is every day when they are reunited.

HFF and a nice weekend.
I will probably attract a lot of criticism, but I do think that public safety regulations often fail to take into account the stress and downright suffering they impose on animals (think of muzzling, for example: ever thought how a human would feel if, for no discernible reason, your face was imprisoned in a contraption that makes it difficult to do all the things a dog needs to do with its mouth, from breathing well to sticking their tongue out to cool off?) I am not sure what changes could be made to make regulations more humane to the animal, but it seems pretty obvious that whomever came up with them had zero consideration for the animal's feelings. In most instances, exceptions are made for guide dogs for the visually impaired, for example, because in that case banning the animal would amount to banning the human, which is of course unthinkable. But why is it perfectly "thinkable" to cause the animal to be stressed and terrified? With all our supposed superior intelligence, can we not find ways to ensure public safety without mistreating animals?
Thank you, Colin, for posting this image. It tells the story of what "no dogs allowed" means for the animal very well. Sorry for the long comment, but it stirred a chord in me.

Great composition of a very unhappy dog! I am sure he became happy later with a big bone!
