This one doesn't look as interesting as I initially saw it.. The red sunset light on the trees and the almost all black cattle in the shadows where quite striking as a contrast

The shot isn't as bad as you seem to think Colin. Just needs the mid-tones lifted a bit and maybe increase the saturation. The grey sky doesn't help though - but you can only work with what you have :-)

There's no harm in having another go though...........at least you'd have a shot to compare it to.
