In Cornwall, they are trying to limit the spread of bracken. They say it is an invasive coloniser. Well, OK, but since Roman times apparently when it was introduced as a useful fodder plant and it has been used for winter heating when all other fuel was exhausted (although it now transpires that it's fumes are highly carcinogenic). Yes, it smothers all native species, so perhaps they are right. What do you think?
