I honestly believe one has to be born a subject of her majesty, either in mainland Britain or the commonwealth, to understand this game. But I have to say one thing: while on project in the UK years ago, I met two managers (one with my own company, one with the client) who were involved with cricket, and both were exceptionally fine and particularly fair type of characters. Dunno if this is a general rule, but it's my personal observation.

Its a minority interest sport but for some reason I have always taken an interest. I think it all started with a fascination with numbers and arithmetic and Cricket is full of them. As for the type of person involved in the game I would have to say that not all are fine characters but the laws of the game seem to encourage fair play which must have some influence
