Good question and a good shot!
I've watched epic battles between wasps and spiders before, one lasting over an hour. The wasp won on that occasion but I have seen it go the other way too. I don't get to see much stuff like this but I just happen to have seen a few of these epic fights to the death! I didn't have a camera in those days!

I think the wasp was clearing up the spider's leftovers but not sure it was going to escape.
