Since it eventually became apparent that I didn't collect & will not collect enough rocks to sufficiently cover these paths between the raised beds, I changed my plan and paved the paths with a shitload of these concrete bricks I got for free instead

These are the two small confectionery boxes that my grandfather kept in a cupboard. He sometimes mentioned they contain the only memorabilia he has of his birth mother, who died when he was 5-6 years old.
The papers in them include a few photographs, work certificates from her jobs as a cleaner and maid for various hotels, and a typewritten estate inventory.

My grandfather's adoptive mother (in the middle) worked in the town abattoir. His father was a builder.
The abattoir operated between 1910-1962 in Sorsapuisto which was at the time considered the edges of the town. In the civil war it was also the location of a machine gun stronghold of the reds.
