Viele der über 40 Mühlen im Landkreis Minden-Lübbecke werden von Vereinen restauriert und gepflegt. Nicht mehr verwendete Fachwerkhäuser werden mitunter abgebaut. Die Balken werden dann für einen Wiederaufbau an anderer Stelle, z.B. an einer Mühle, weiter verwendet. Möglicherweise sind bei diesem Backhaus nur noch die Balken original.
