HFF ...Toliara, Madagascar

The beach at Toliara, South West Madagascar. It is a village, a road, a toilet, a fishing place. People are desperately poor and unemployment is the norm.
Madagascar is almost the poorest country in the world according to UN statistics. It has been riddled with corruption. Many schools are permanently closed. Family planning and medical care almost non existent. Most people do not have access to water or electricity.
Despite this, people are friendly and warm, and I really enjoyed my time there exploring.

Diana Australis club has replied to Nautilus clubLes malagaches n’ont rien.

Touching shot and words, Diana! HFF and have a great weekend.
HFF, Diana.
Things don't solve themselves by chance.
People did it , if that started on the wrong feet, compassion don't help.
Means and money are in desperate need.
Who is involved, who is responsible ?
HFF my friend; when in fact I should say: who is in charge ?
Erich
Great information and story.
I know Africa is totally corrupt as a carry over from the slave trade, but I did not expect it of Madagascar. I imagined a little island with nice beaches, and interesting wildlife...
We learn something new from each other every day!
Best Wishes, and a good weekend
Peter
