Ta description Madagascar est tout à fait pertinente. J'y étais au début de l'année avec une ONG. J'y retourne probablement à la fin de l'année, toujours avec une ONG. D'anciens médecins militaires qui vont soigner bénévolement les gens dans les villages de brousse les plus isolés.
Je n'ai jamais vu autant d'ONG travailler dans un pays. Même en Inde. Comme tu le soulignes dans ton commentaire, les malgaches n'ont rien.

Nous avons voyagé seulement avec un jeune malagache......il nous a beaucoup expliqué.
En route de l’Australie nous avons rencontré une équipe de médicins australiens...’Doctors for Madagascar ‘ qui vont une mois chaque année à travailler aux régions hors de Tana avec les pauvres.

Petit voyage dans ton image et commentaire ... pauvreté et solidarité...

Wow what a spot HFF

et dans ta présentation de la photo , il faut ajouter : c'est un pays riche d'une bio-diversité exceptionnelle , que les les élites, la classe dirigeante , les " décideurs" , bradent aux multinationales , sans aucun bénéfice pour la population. so is globalization happy

D’accord....une île de richesses..minérales, zoologiques, et produits comme la vanille et cacao....toutes avalées par despotism et corruption.
Les malagaches n’ont rien. Leur pauvrêté est cruelle.

Comme tu y vas Nautilus. Le dernier despote porté au pouvoir a été viré en début d'année. Bon, le nouveau président (copain de Sarko) avait lui même été viré par celui qu'il vient de détrôner. Tous les deux mettaient largement les deux mains dans les pots de confiture. Mais le nouveau a changé. C'est lui qui le dit ! Bon, d'accord, il avait été éjecté de la présidence sans un sous en poche. C'est lui qui le dit aussi. Maintenant il est milliardaire. Cherchez l'erreur.
De toute façon, il ne pourra pas spolier les malgaches, ils n'ont rien. Même pas de quoi manger dans certaines région du sud de la Grande Ile.

tu me rassures Jean Luc ! ainsi les pratiques auraient changées ! moi tu sais je suis un grand naïf. Depuis que la Francafrique n 'existe plus j 'ai en effet constaté une avancée " significative" de la démocratie en Afrique et aussi une augmentation de la richesse des plus riches. Et puis la Chine a remplacé la France,c e qui est un gage de respect des Droits-de-l' Homme....

Thanks for sharing Diana. I often heard that in poor regions of the globe people are friendly and welcoming strangers willingly. So what are we missing in Europe, North America or Australia not being able to do the same?

A terrific shot Diana but what a harsh existence these poor people have. A lesson to be learnt though that these people who have next to nothing are so friendly. There are too many others who cannot even offer up a simple 'Thank you' HFF and have a great weekend

Thank you for reminding us that we in the West are very lucky to have all that we do; water, food, medical aid, jobs, a place to live etc. Despite this we complain about anything and everything in our self centered lives. We should remember, there but for fortune.....

Great information and story.
I know Africa is totally corrupt as a carry over from the slave trade, but I did not expect it of Madagascar. I imagined a little island with nice beaches, and interesting wildlife...

We learn something new from each other every day!
