The worst Gulags, basically death camps. I've read quite a bit about them. What hell. Anyway, an interesting photo and I find those old Soviet-era signs interesting.

Yes..they have an appalling history, and are so very, very remote.
It was so very, very interesting to be there....

Just in case anyone is interested in reading the most comprehensive history of the Gulags, I'd suggest Anne Appelbaum's GULAG. For a first-hand account of his time in a far east gulag, Varlam Shalamov's Kolyma Tales. Grim, but fascinating (I like this sort of thing)!
