The weights carried by porters here are disgusting. I have seen one man carrying a heavy wardrobe (alone) and another with a four seater sofa...just strapped to their heads, and supported on their necks and backs, toiling up and down the very steep twisting roads here.
Disgraceful!

Par la force des choses, obligés de travailler pour nourrir leur famille.
Le gouvernement devrait revoir leur copie pour venir en aide à ces gens, Personnellement, je prends ma valise et me débrouille et leur donne un peu d'argent, je suis contre cette forme d'esclavagisme.

I saw women work like this in Africa while the men sat under trees talking. I live like a weak and pampered princess in comparison.

Me too.....the life of women in developing countries is a nightmare compared to ours. Apart from the hard work there is also exploitation and total disregard of any human rights for women as equal human beings.

Exactly - the worst possible combination of circumstances. That's why the only charities I donate to are specifically to help 3rd world women progress.
