Lots of chicks there! Their relatives, the arctic terns, are extremely aggressive, if these have similar behaviour you were really brave!

They need time to migrate from Antarcitca and won't have arrived yet;-) When breeding they attack your head, in Iceland I once had to walk holding my rucksack over my head...

We have numerous species of terns here, but they're really hard to identify from a distance. I've just checked my bird book and see that the Arctic Tern is described as a "rare visitor" and usually seen offshore from April to December. I'll be watching out for them though, on our trip north.
