Herring Gull

Are you listening to me.
These Gulls have become such a problem here in Dublin and especially where I live In a coastal village there is now great pressure to have them culled. The noise they make is terrible starting at 4 Am. They are also attacking children for whatever they are eating.

I was once told to stop feeding gulls at the seaside. I agreed, I told the fellow complaining I had found a place a mile away where I can feed them without the travelling :) I must admit I love to watch gulls and photograph them in flight.

Seagulls are awful birds. A real menace. One attacked me and pinched my crab sandwich as I sat eating it on a sea wall. A lovely image though, Tess and you're you're right to point out what a nuisance they are.

Great shot, Tess, but so sorry to hear about your gull troubles! The Herring Gull is one of our three common gull species here in New York, along with the Laughing Gull and the Greater Black-backed Gull. Our Herrings can be aggressive, not nearly as bad as by you. Good luck in controlling them!
