east tilbury church, essex

odd very shallow bowl c.10 cms deep inside with much solid stone beneath, brought in from west tilbury church. looks c18, perhaps a font, but why the odd lipped edge, difficult to fit with a cover? possibly not a mortar given the impractical rounded base.
