c19 rotivator, lincoln castle

made by blackstone of stamford , probably in the late c19, this machine was designed to chew up the land, with a big plough blade beneath, and various scary looking rotating prongs and blades sticking out at the rear, like some torture instrument by heath robinson. sitting on its own in the castle for some forgotten reason. I don't know how efficient it would have been , but perhaps it just cowed the land into submission by its looks.
