coade stone george III, lincoln castle

detail of the garter st.george on the large bust of george III in the castle, looking as if it is made of coade stone, though no signature. this is because it is only part of a 15 foot high statue made in 1810 to go on top of durston pillar on nocton heath, the rest of which is probably still in the old prison here.
