st.bartholomew's hospital chapel, chatham
chapel of 1124 just outside the east gate of rochester, restored by scott in the c19. this north chapel , the apse and nave are original, scott added the north aisle to the right here and a vestry and porch. this was not a leper hospital as some have claimed; that would have been dedicated to st.giles and not been so close to town.
