synagogue and jewish graveyard rochester, kent

lovely little synagogue designed by h.h.collins and built 1865-9. the gate on the right leads to the cemetery: legally, this strip of land running back to the hospital was a footpath giving access from the river, and unlike the rest of the land was not sold to the donor of cemetery and synagogue, but is rented still.
