winterborne whitechurch church, dorset

the unusual font bears shields with fish and lions on them, it seems early c15 to me. there is a similar one at bradford abbas, and others of similar design but without the outer legs, though these appear to have been carved in one piece with the bowl, with a join half way down the leg, excepting later repair to one leg, so they are not add ons.
